Sorry-we are still here...I needed a little time out since our last post. This fostering thing is getting (well, it has been) very emotional. Court went okay, nothing earthshaking and dramatic like I wanted, but, no major decisions were made. They are still sticking with the unsupervised visits and want to increase teham eventually to two times a week, prayers were answered in te fact that things are going slow...which needs to happen, and I think that her mother is starting to falter a little and some important people are beginning to notice- this is a huge step and success, so I will take it as it comes, and please, please, keep praying!
We went up to our beloved Mohican for Memorial Day Weekend- I am trying to download pics and will hopefully have them up soon- having a little computer crisis....Mohican is actually the Mohican River Valley in Ohio, it is approximately right in between columbus and Cleveland. A dear and beloved family friend used to own the Mohican River Inn there (Loudonville, Ohio) it has since changed hands, but "Uncle Andy" was back for a weekend so we packed up and hurried up to see him.
We LOVE Mohican, we LOVE Uncle Andy...a very gentle spirit that truly loves nature. He has been very important in fostering my childrens love of nature, I believe he is formally schooled in Botany as he knows every type of plant and tree that I have ever noticed, but he is self learned in all facets of nature. Everytime my kids find something in nature they run, literally run, to him shouting "Uncle Andy! Look what I found!" and he inevitibaly stops what he is doing and patiently explains their find to them. It is a beautiful thing to see, and I am so blessed to have this relationship, this chance, this "Uncle Andy" in my life! And so thankful that my children have it in their lives!
So, I love "Uncle Andy", my children (my wild, loud, wild children) love "Uncle Andy"- and we thank "Uncle Andy" for helping us LOVE nature!
