Perhaps soon I will learn how to download pictures to this site...One of the great things about unychooling is that it can happen anywhere, anytime on anyday-not just within the confines of a school building from 9-3 mon thru fri. We have spent the last week exploring the flood we are currently experiencing in Cincinnati- and today, Saturday, is no exception. I believe that the river is meant to crest at 57-58 tomorrow, so off we go today. We have been visiting the sam esites all week and taking note of how high along the bank the Ohio River is, and then returning the next day to see what has happened. Thursday the river had risen up into the grassat a certain church we were monitioring and last night Daddy drove by and told us it was now in the parking lot! We are very anxious to go see if the parking lot is covered, as it was just on the edge of the parking lot last night. It is also very exciting as we have a school around the corner on the banks of the river that is built on stilts for this very purpose, and it was closed on thurs and fri due to high water- we drove down and found the underside covered in water! This has been a great lesson in science and supposing, and making hypotheses and conclusions, and even re-enacting our own floods in the sandbox and (shudder) bathtub! Well we are off for more discovery!
